WELCOME TO LMU
Loyola Marymount has many opportunities to welcome new students and their families to all the fun events university life has to offer. After attaining more funding and greater outreach I had the opportunity to make this event significantly bigger in attendance than in previous years. After reaching out to a brand new Whole Foods Market, they generously agreed to supply all the appetizers which were a huge hit with the party guests. We looked at data and feedback from the years past and revamped the program into a can't miss event.
This event was huge, and although students had only known each other for a few hours, the Viva Las Vegas spirit was electric. The dance floor was packed, the booths were busy, and students lined the walkways from start to finish. Pinterest inspired craft stations with a "Build a Lion" stuffed animal vendor, a street sign maker, and a caricature artist. The event also featured a photo booth, so roommates could already have memories of friendships made on their walls! The event also featured a mobile video game bus, casino tables, and finally a raffle with first-year essentials like mini-fridges and laundry service for a semester.
